Chocolate Hobnobs | BasicallyBakes

  1. Now we're coming into autumn and winter is just around the corner it's the perfect time for hot drinks and a little treat. Chocolate hobnobs have always been a favourite of mine, I could quite happily eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Ingredients:
125g Unsalted butter
80g Brown sugar
2 tbsp Golden syrup
100g Quick oats
100g Wholemeal flour
1/2tsp Baking soda
1/2tsp Baking powder
220g Chocolate
20g Unsalted butter

Method:
Step 1: Firstly preheat the oven to 180°C and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.

Step 2: Next, place the 125g of unsalted butter and 80g of brown sugar into a bowl, beat together until pale and smooth.

Step 3: Now add in the 2 tbsp of golden syrup and beat again.

Step 4: On a low speed mix the 100g of oats, 100g of wholemeal flour, 1/2tsp of baking powder and 1/2 tsp of bicarbonate of soda.

Step 5: Using spoons, or your hands if you don't mind getting too messy, form little balls and pop them onto the lined baking tray. Flatten then out until they're around 2 inches, making sure you leave room for the cookies to spread out.

Step 6: Place them into the oven for 12-15 minuets until golden brown and then leave to cool for around 20 minuets.

Step 7: Next, melt together the 220g of chocolate and 20g of unsalted butter in a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of boiling water.

Step 8: Finally, spoon a tablespoon of chocolate onto each cookie and spread out evenly. Allow the chocolate to set before serving with a nice warm cup of tea.

Benefit Roller Lash Review

Benefit is a make up brand I've always had a love, hate relationship with. There aren't many products in the range that I can say I like, however this definitely is one. I'm sure you've all heard of benefits roller lash mascara as it was released last year, but I've recently rediscovered it and have been using it daily ever since.

The mascara brush itself is a curved shape and is based on velcro hair rollers. With tiny little hooks that are designed to catch, lift and curl each lash, as you apply the mascara. The comb-like wand makes sure all the lashes are separated and fanned out, perfect for a day or evening look. The formula of the mascara contains Provitamin B5 and Serin, not only is this mascara gentle on your lashes, but conditions them too! Roller lash retails at £19.50 which is quite expensive for a mascara but in my opinion totally worth it.

Oreo Krispy Bites | BasicallyBakes

Maybe you're the sort of person that usually messes up a cake from a packet, in which case this is a perfect recipe for you. Quick, easy and fun to make, with no baking involved. Oreo krispy bites could quite possibly be my new favourite sweet treat. Gooey, buttery perfection with every bite, a great twist on the original rice krispy squares.

Ingredients:
3 packets of Oreos
2 bags of marshmallows
1 large bar of white chocolate
4 tablespoons of unsalted butter

Method:
Step 1: Firstly grease and line a baking tin with greaseproof paper.

Step 2: Next, place your 3 packets of Oreos into a sealable bag and crush well with a rolling pin. Now place them in a large bowl and set aside for later.

Step 3: In a medium sauce pan combine your 4 tablespoons of butter and 2 bags of marshmallows. Melt both the butter and marshmallows together for 8-10 minutes, on a low to medium heat. Stir frequently, scraping any bits from the bottom making sure the mixture doesn't burn.

Step 4: Now pour your melted marshmallows over the Oreos and stir until both are well combinedQuickly spread into the prepared tin pressing firmly and evening into the edges and corners.

Step 5: Next, chill for around 2 hours or until set, then cut into even squares. Finally melt white chocolate and drizzle in a diagonal motion over every square, serve and enjoy.

Favourite Lip Combanation

My go to lip combo at the moment would have to be velvet teddy lipstick and soar lipliner, both by mac. Although both of these products always seem to be out of stock, I managed to get my hands on them at the airport this year and have been loving them ever since.

Matte lipsticks can sometimes be drying on your lips and are often difficult to apply however Mac seem to have the matte formula nailed. Mac velvet teddy is probably one of the most hydrating matte lipsticks i've ever tried, extremely creamy with a bold pigmentation. It is a beautiful pink toned nude lipstick that enhances your natural lip colour and has become a firm favourite in my make up collection.

I've always had a love for Mac lipliners, they're so easy to work with and have such a wide range of shades to pick from. However I did feel quite over whelmed by the choice and didn't quite know where to start. Eventually i decided to purchase Soar and i'm so happy that i did. Soar lip liner is a gorgeous mauve-y, dusky pink shade, lovely for an everyday make up look. This shade of lipliner is so versatile, it suits both light and dark nudes so it's easy to create an ombre look. I would definitely recommend trying both of these products if you haven't already.
